Educational Background

Arun P T, a former civil servant is from Tamil Nadu and had his education from Jawahar School (Neyveli), Loyola College (Chennai) and American College (Madurai) and is a Post graduate in Zoology. He is currently pursuing post-graduation in Psychology.

Civil Servant to Teacher

He cleared the UPSC civil service exam in 2005 and was in Indian Postal Service for more than a year. From 2007, he is into civil service coaching specialising in Psychology, Ethics (General Studies- Paper 4), and training for all Interviews. He also helps students to clear CUET, NET/JRF, GATE, FACT, DRDO RAC Scientist B and GRE exams for psychology.

Teaching Style

Colourful PowerPoint presentations, memory techniques, quiz, movie based discussions and interactive classes are his preferred mode of teaching that keeps students at centre of learning.

But in spite of all infotainment elements, he keeps his class focused on the exam. His teaching philosophy stresses on helping students to get their basics right and to empower them to face any eventuality.

 

Mission

Apart from having personally benefitted from psychology, the rising importance of the discipline across the world has nudged him to popularise the subject in India, using his experience of teaching it for close to 20 years for various exams among diverse age groups

Achievements

Along with his wife Remya Roshni IPS Ex., he has facilitated around 250 students to be successful in the civil service examination (5 in top ten ranks). He has helped many students to clear UPSC civil services with psychology as an optional.

He has conducted psychology career orientation sessions, Psychology quizzes and civil service orientations in various institutions. He is the founder of Pathways Academy, Trivandrum. He is also presently associated with Kingmaker’s Academy, Chennai for teaching Psychology, ethics and Interview coaching.

Specializations

He primarily teaches psychology for various competitive exams including civil services exam.

 He also specializes in conducting psychology quizzes in addition to general and domain specific quizzes.
He also teaches administrative ethics for civil service exam in addition to helping students prepare for all UPSC interviews and psychology career related interviews.
He specializes in biological psychology or Neuroscience, a fast growing sub-discipline. He undertakes sessions for school/college students regarding, general motivation, special psychology lectures, orientation on competitive exams based on psychology and civil service exam orientation.
